True self-expression no longer exist. With new age technology comes new age philosophy, Appearance Outweighs Substance. Black people have always been a subculture in America that lacked the financial means to effectively make Congressional change, yet in the past Black leaders utilized what we fiscally and physically didn’t have to emphasize character traits and talents that were unmatched. Integrity and respect reigned supreme and our arts reflected it. Whether it was music, dance, or thought we were able to unexpectedly show defiance through various mediums just by simply being ourselves. While America had Elvis Presley, we created the blues, which evolved into Rhythm & Blues, all while in the midst of “Civil Rights.”
In close, all works related will continue to be untainted (as they previously were) and to the benefit of Black people. No miss-representation, just high quality reflections with integrity.
